Tamara de Lempicka was born Maria Gorska in Warsaw, Poland, in 1898.
Known as one of the first visual artist who, nurturing glamorous image, has become a worldwide celebrity. Growing up in a family of Polish nobles and married to prominent members of the Russian imperial government, fled to Paris after the Russian Revolution and then in the 1920s built a reputation as a glamorous artist. Family life was marked by her bohemian atmosphere and sexual relationships with both sexes. Remarried after moving to the United States - shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War, becoming a favorite artist of Hollywood stars.
